The Story of OliveUs Farm

Nancy Pedersen, owner, fell in love with olives and olive oil in 1978 while stationed in Rota, Spain.  At first it was difficult to adjust to no butter and then she discovered olive oil; and the rest is history. In August of 2010 an opportunity was presented to us in Calaveras County. We bought what is now known as OliveUs Farm and started Dove Creek Olive Oil. The oil is only one venture on this farm and we hope to expand our offerings in years to come. We felt the name OliveUs was appropriate because we need OliveYou to help OliveUs Farm be successful!

 

In 2011 the DOT took 25 feet of road front from us so we relocated eight trees. Those trees will take about 7-9 years to produce again. In total we have 70 trees on our 4.5 acre farm. We named our oil "Vintage Gold". With those vintage trees located in California gold country, we are the next Gold Rush of California. Try our oil and we are sure you will agree.

We won a SILVER Medal in 2018 at the CA State Fair. We entered the Robust Blend category for Manzanillo olives.

For our 2023 harvest we won 2 medals. In the CA State Fair a GOLD for Medium Manzi blend. We won a BEST IN CLASS for our Sierra Foothill Estate Blend. Then we went on to win a BRONZE in the Los Angeles International EVOO Competition. Thanks to all of you who came out for the 2023 harvest, it was a record year.
